Data flow

Data are currently stored on a cloud system but The Shark Trust are currently converting their data into Darwin Core format, this will enable them to submit the data to EMODnet. Once this data has been published there are established data pathways that will make the data available in the UK and globally.

Sharing/Reporting

Currently data is shared upon request, request forms are available and data sharing agreements are used. This will change when data is archived by a DAC as the intention is to use a CC-BY licence.

The Shark Trust create an end of year report and also a focused Easter report in line with the Easter holidays to encourage participation. Data are also shared in a report for Shark Focus and in social media posts. An online results map has recently been launched where users can filter by location and date.
